AIR PASSENGER MOVEMENTS Passenger movements remain closely correlated with hotel occupancy levels. Data from the Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Research Economics (BITRE) indicates that 2024 recorded a strong growth of 29.0% in total revenue passenger movements, reflecting continued recovery from pandemic-related disruptions. In contrast, passenger growth in 2025 is expected to moderate to approximately 2.7%, as the recovery stabilised. Over the medium term, BITRE forecasts steady growth in revenue passenger movements of approximately 2.6% to 2.7% per annum over the next five years, providing a supportive demand backdrop for the Australian hotel sector.
