Savills Australian Hotel Transaction Review 2025
TRANSACTION VOLUME BY STATE In 2025, Victoria accounted for approximately 27% of total transaction volume, driven primarily by the sale of several large assets, followed by Queensland at around 23%. This represents a notable shift from 2024, when New South Wales dominated transaction volume at 49%, while Victoria accounted for only 12%. However, Queensland dominated overall activity by actual number of transactions with 22 transactions occurring in 2025, an increase from 18 in the previous year. The share gains for Victoria (27%) and Queensland (23%) indicate a shift toward markets offering both transactional liquidity and earnings momentum, supported by the recent events pipeline and infrastructure investment, while Western Australia (19%) continues to benefit from strong trading conditions in Perth.
